Beyond The Page & Giveaway: “One Night Stand” by Parker Kincade

Nov 29

Today I’d like to welcome author Parker Kincade to Caribbean Accent Book Reviews (CABR). She’s here to tell us about her debut novel, “One Night Stand“, Book 1 in The Martin Family saga.

A GIVEAWAY is included in this interview (you know I love a giveaway 😀 so be sure to POST A COMMENT then enter the RAFFLECOPTER here >>> a Rafflecopter giveaway <<< for a chance to WIN an eBook copy of “One Night Stand“)

CABR: Parker, I must say “One Night Stand” (ONS) grabbed me with its fantastic plot –

When a night of incredible sex turns into a passion neither can deny.

Amanda Martin has the worst taste in men. After being cheated on not once, but twice, she’s lost all faith in men … and in herself. Determined to regain her confidence, Amanda decides to have a one-night stand. No relationship, no promises, no threat of being hurt again … just sex. What she doesn’t anticipate is meeting a handsome-as-sin stranger who will give her pleasure unlike any she’s ever known.

Joe Sterling has spent his life avoiding relationships, his former job as a military sniper not allowing for such commitments. Now he’s come home to Texas, to let go of the past and to prove he is more than the killer he’s been trained to be.

When Amanda’s life is threatened, Joe’s killer instinct is tested while Amanda struggles to protect her heart. Will they succumb to their overwhelming desire for each other, or lose it all by letting the past dictate their future?”

CABR: Reading that synopsis had me saying “Oh yeah.” How’d you come up with the storyline? 🙂

PK: I always stumble when someone asks me how I come up with my storylines. It’s not a “cut and dried” process for me. Generally, ideas formulate from a question. One Night Stand was no different. I’d asked myself what would happen if a woman decided to give up on love and have a one-night stand. One thing led to another and voila! Amanda and Joe! 😀

CABR: I know ONS has won at least two awards and hit the bestseller list on All Romance eBooks (ARE) within two weeks of its publication. Congrats! How’s it feel to know your debut novel has been so well received?

PK: Thank you so much! It feels amazing, truly. I am thrilled with the recognition this story has received from Passionate Ink and the Celtic Hearts Romance Writers. I am so grateful to the readers, reviewers and e-book sellers for supporting this story. I love the Martin Family, and I am excited that others do as well. It means I get to continue to share their stories with you!

CABR: Did you struggle while writing any part of/scene in ONS or was it a fun ride?

PK: LOL! I struggled with the whole damn thing! Joe and Amanda were not always as cooperative as I would have liked. “One Night Stand” is not only the first novel I’ve published, it was the first one I actually completed. It was a real learning process. A labor of love, this one, but love it was – every second.

CABR: Wow! That’s very cool Parker. So what’s next for you (a) in books and (b) life?

PK: (a) I have a lot going on right now. I’m finishing up a manuscript I am really excited about. Then, of course, I am working on book two in the Martin Family series. Stay tuned for details!

(b) I am the happiest I have ever been. I am doing what I’ve always dreamed of doing, and I’ve met some amazing people along the way. Next in my life is, hopefully, more of the same.

Be sure to POST A COMMENT then enter the RAFFLECOPTER here >>> a Rafflecopter giveaway <<< for a chance to WIN an eBook copy of “One Night Stand

CABR: How has life changed since you officially became a published author?

PK: Other than my kids thinking I’m the coolest person on the planet, my life is pretty much the same, only much busier!

Honestly, the biggest change is the amount of time I devote to actual writing. When I wrote “One Night Stand“, it was a piece here, a piece there, for a year. Now, I dedicate time every day to write.

CABR: Which character from fiction, yours or another author’s, would you like to spend time with and why?

PK: Hmm. It changes on a daily basis, depending on my mood. Today, I’m going with Vane Kattalakis from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Night Play. I mean, come on. Six foot, five inches of sex-on-a-stick, motorcycle ridin’, badass, were-shifter? You do the math! The reasons why are completely naked, um, I mean obvious. He could teach me to ride his…motorcycle. Yeah, that’s it. LOL!

CABR: LOL. If you could be someone else for a day, from any time in history, who would you be and why?

PK: As strange as this will sound – Jane Goodall. Having worked with chimpanzees myself, I have a deep appreciation for her work and her dedication to affect change for these amazing creatures. To live and work with chimpanzees in the wild would be, for an anthropologist such as myself, an amazing experience.

Beyond The Page & Giveaway: “The Price of Success” by Maya Blake

Nov 25

Today it’s my pleasure to welcome debut Mills&Boon Modern author and F1 fanatic, Maya Blake, to CABR. 😀

She’s here to talk about her first book for M&B, “The Price of Success” (TPOS) which was released by Mills&Boon Modern on December 1, 2012.

GIVEAWAY – (1) Post a comment (2) Enter the Rafflecopter >> a Rafflecopter giveaway <<
to be eligible to WIN an eBook copy of “The Price of Success“.

On to the interview…

CABR: The Price of Success” (TPOS) is your debut novel for M&B Modern right? Tell us how you came to write race car driver Sasha Fleming and her boss at Espiritu racing team, Marco de Cervantes? Are you a fan of stock car racing and/or F1?

MB: Yes, TPOS is my first M&B Modern – still can’t believe it! I don’t know a lot about other forms of racing, but I do know A LOT about F1! It started back in the late ’90s when I lived with two older brothers who are absolute F1 fanatics.

At first the soporific sound of the cars going round and round was a great aid to a Sunday afternoon nap, lol. Then I slowly began to take an interest. The more I watched, the more I loved it – it had glitz, glamour and hot men in tight race suits – what’s not to love? But then I also noticed that ALL of the drivers were male. That didn’t sit right with me, so last year I decided to write about a female race driver who conquers a male-dominated sport!

CABR: Knowing Sasha Fleming was an actual F1 driver and not the usual ‘chick on the sidelines’ was one of the things that peaked my interest in TPOS. 🙂

Can you give us a sneak peek at the cover for your next book – “The Sinful Art of Revenge“? I know it’s due out from Harlequin Presents in March 2013. That’ll be a cool birthday present to myself 🙂

MB: Unfortunately, I won’t have the cover for another couple of months but I can summarise the story for you. It’s a reunion story between staid French Baron and billionaire art gallery owner, Damion Fortier, and live-life-on-the-edge Reiko Kagawa, a half-Japanese art retriever he seduced and betrayed five years before the story starts.

Damion needs Reiko to find three missing paintings of his late grandmother before his grandfather passes away. They have serious issues to work through because once Damion realises how much he hurt her, he tries to make amends but Reiko can’t accept him back because she afraid of being hurt again. She also has newer, more heart-breaking issues of her own which she feels she can’t get over. Are you intrigued yet?

CABR: Intrigued? I’d say hooked! Looking forward to getting my hands on “The Sinful Art of Revenge” even more now. Tell us about your journey from aspiring to published author.

GIVEAWAY – (1) Post a comment (2) Enter the Rafflecopter >> a Rafflecopter giveaway <<
to be eligible to WIN an eBook copy of “The Price of Success“.

MB: Although I’ve been published with other houses before I received the famous Call from Harlequin, the ambition to write for Mills and Boon Modern was what burned brightest.

My journey involved a lot of hits and misses, starting in early 2006 when I sent off my first partial. I received a few rejections along the way until they transformed from form rejections to rejections with notes and then requests for full manuscripts. My second try with a full revised manuscript was with “The Price of Success“, which luckily sold in April of this year.

CABR: A lesson in never giving up on your dream. 😀 How has your life changed since then?

MB: I’ve met some lovely and supportive people who have given me great advice about the publishing industry, which is basically – don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s also truly mind-boggling to know people are reading my book and liking it. I’ve had some awesome reviews this past week that’s humbling but incredibly thrilling. Other than that, I’m having to manage my time a bit more efficiently because deadlines are real, y’all!

CABR: Which character from fiction, yours or another author’s, would you like to spend time with and why?

MB: Definitely Sasha (although I love Marco to bits, too!). Sasha is truly kick-ass and came up with some hilarious one-liners that had me in stitches as I wrote them. She’s also fearless and goes after what she wants. I’d love to hang out with her any day! Also, Marco’s brother, Rafael (whose story I’m writing now) is a BAD, BAD boy. I’d wouldn’t mind going out for a drink or three with him.

CABR: Another book to look forward to. 🙂 If you could be someone else for a day, from any time in history, who would you be and why?

MB: Hmmm, that’s a tough one – some many great icons from history! Okay, since I’m a movie buff, I’m going with the iconic movie star, Ava Gardner. I watched and obsessed over her movies in my teens. I only wish I had a single ounce of her cool elegance!

Thank so much for inviting me to your blog, Sasha!

CABR: My pleasure. Feel free to come back anytime Maya 🙂

Beyond The Page & Giveaway: “Falling for Finn” by Jackie Ashenden

Nov 23

Welcome debut author, Jackie Ashenden, to CABR. 😀

I’m sure you all are going to love her book, Falling For Finn (FFF), but since it’s not available in stores until next year, I’m offering you an advanced copy.

All you have to do is post a COMMENT then enter the RAFFLECOPTER here >>> a Rafflecopter giveaway<<< for a chance to WIN.

On to the interview…

CABR: Falling For Finn (FFF) is a gripping, emotional and sexy read, dealing with a very serious issue in a non-judgemental way. What led you to write Anna’s story about her journey from a woman afraid of touch following her sexual assault, to falling in love with her sexy male BFF?

JA: Well, it’s such a horrible experience and it happens to so many people, and I just really wanted to write a story where someone who’d had this happen to them could overcome it in a powerful way…And have a happy ending. 🙂

So for Anna, the way she went about dealing with it was to reclaim her sexuality and I thought that if she was going to do that, then trust was going to be a huge issue. Which made her best friend – someone she trusts absolutely – the best person to help her.

CABR: I totally get where you were coming from. 🙂 Trust is such a hug thing in one’s life. Is this your debut novel? Could you share what drew you to write Anna and Finn’s story first?

(One lucky commentator on my blog will get a really advanced copy of FFF which officially releases in February 2013. Simply post a COMMENT then enter the RAFFLECOPTER here >>> a Rafflecopter giveaway<<< for a chance to WIN.)

JA: Yep, this is my debut book. Okay, well the reason for Anna and Finn’s story is a bit of a saga! I’d been writing for publication for five years or so (twenty for my own pleasure!) and for most of those years I’d been getting rejection after rejection.

I was pretty dispirited and doubting myself, and my writing had suffered and had become something I was afraid of doing, not the passion it used to be. So my crit partners kind of staged an intervention (they probably got sick of my moaning) and said I should write something different. Just try writing for fun for a change.

I had nothing to lose and I’d had this idea for this heroine recovering from a sexual assault for a long time. So it seemed like the perfect time – Anna was reclaiming her sexuality and I was reclaiming my love of writing. Anyway, I took the brakes off my writing and pretended that no one was ever – EVER – going to read it. And it just flowed. I loved writing it so much.

Anna got her happy ending and I managed to find my joy again. And then when it was finished, the CPs said submit it and although I protested muchly – because no one was ever going to read this right? – submit it I did.

To WIN, post a COMMENT then enter the RAFFLECOPTER here >>> a Rafflecopter giveaway<<< for a chance to WIN.

CABR: Fantastic! Thank God for your CP group – I and many others now have the pleasure of reading a truly great book, Falling For Finn. 😀  Tell us more about your journey from blogger and member of a writing circle to published author.

JA: I’ve been writing since I was about twelve – eons in other words – and for years and years I wrote romances with a friend of mine that we’d swap and read. Eventually as life got in the way, she stopped writing but I never did. I kept writing romances for my own pleasure until about five years ago I met a romance author while on holiday. She encouraged me try sending my books in to publishers and I thought, yes. Yes, I can do that.

Being an author was always a dream of mine and it was about time I started trying to see if I could make it a reality. It was a longer, harder road than I’d ever imagined it would be and if it wasn’t for all the wonderful, supportive community of writers I’d met along the way, I’d never have got there. But it was worth every second of the struggle, I have to say.

CABR: That’s why people always say, “Never give up”. 🙂 I know 2013 will be a busy year for you in terms of new releases. Which books should readers look out for?

JA: An excellent question – I have quite a few! Firstly I’ll have two more Samhain releases this year – in July I have Black Knight, White Queen (chess playing hero meets graphic artist heroine for one night in Bangkok!).

Then in November, Taking Him (my dirty virgin hero if you’ve been following me on Twitter!). I also have a three book series out with Entangled Publishing’s Indulgence line – release dates etc to be advised.

CABR: Wow! Great news for us readers though 🙂 Which character from fiction, yours or another author’s, would you like to spend time with and why?

JA: I would like to spend time with Dante, Maisey Yate’s hero from Her Little White Lie (due out Jan 2013). He’s soooo hot and dark and tragic, and I feel sure I could heal him (step aside heroine!). Yep, I love dark, tragic heroes if you don’t know that already!

CABR: Who doesn’t? 😉 If you could be someone else for a day, from any time in history, who would you be and why?

JA: If I could be anyone I’d be Queen Elizabeth the First. Because she ruled an empire, didn’t let any man tell her what to do, wore a ruff (gotta love a ruff) and she had red hair like me. 🙂

CABR: Very cool ! 🙂 Thanks for visiting CABR Jackie. I look forward to your return when your new books are released next year.

Beyond The Page & Giveaway: “Trust In Me” by Suzanna Ross

Nov 22

Have you heard about modern romance novel “Trust In Me“?

It’s about millionaire Theo Bradley’s struggle to get Rosie Farnham; former owner of the dilapidated manor house he bought, to actually vacate the premises.

Sparks fly and a connection is made and today it’s your lucky chance to WIN a copy of this eBook from Suzanna Ross (aka Suzanne Ross Jones).

Simply post a comment then ENTER the rafflecopter by clicking this link – a Rafflecopter giveaway

You can also purchase “Trust In Me” at Amazon.co.uk and at Amazon.com (links take you to the book’s page on each website)

On to the interview 😀

CABR: Welcome Suzanna. I’m always happy to help spread the word about new authors.

In “Trust In Me” (TIM) Theo is having to contend with former owner Rosie refusing to leave her former home due to financial issues. Did these characters pop into your head one day or did you play around with an idea for a while?

SR: I played around with the idea a lot. This book has been rewritten so many times it’s not funny. I’ve ended up with a different heroine, a different hero and a different situation to the ones I started out with. So, really, it’s a completely different book. But I feel I needed to that with this one. I write a lot faster and cleaner now.

CABR: Kudos to you Suzanna for sticking with the revision process until the book felt right. Did you self-publish TIM and is this your first full-length novel?

Simply post a comment then ENTER the rafflecopter by clicking this link – a Rafflecopter giveaway

SR: This is my first published full-length novel. It isn’t self-published because I needed the validation of being accepted by an impartial third party. I haven’t ruled out self-publication for future works, though.

Trust In Me was first published in the UK by DC Thomson as a My Weekly Pocket novel. I then sold Large Print Rights to FA Thorpe Publishing – so it will appear in libraries in the UK and Commonwealth in a year or so. And then E-scape press accepted it for e-publication under their Ballgown Press imprint, which was released on November 12.

CABR: I understand you write short stories for magazine. Is this how you got into writing?

SR: It isn’t. I fell in love with romance as a teenager and started off trying to write novels. My first published work was a short story, though. Followed by numerous fillers and letters – all paid for and a nice way to earn some extra money as the payment per word for these little items is very good. I’ve been selling short stories fairly regularly (touch wood) for the past couple of years, so decided to take up the challenge of trying another longer story. TIM was the result.

CABR: How would you describe the heat level of TIM? Did you set out to write it that way?

SR: The heat level of the published story was dictated by the guidelines for My Weekly Pocket Novels – so it’s emotionally warm rather than physically hot. The kind of warmth you’d expected to see in most newsstand women’s magazines. In an earlier version there was hanky panky aplenty, but the version I eventually sold has been toned down to suit the market.

Simply post a comment then ENTER the rafflecopter by clicking this link – a Rafflecopter giveaway

CABR: I hope one day you release the original version 🙂 So, what’s next for you?

SR: I’m still writing short stories and there’s an anthology of short stories on the way: “The Baby Of The Family & Other Stories” will be self-published, but the contents have previously appeared in the UK in The People’s Friend magazine.

I’ve recently sold another longer story to My Weekly for their new Easy Reads: My Biker Boy (not the title – but I’m hoping they might change it because my title left a bit to be desired) which will hit shelves in January. And last week I sold another pocket novel to The People’s Friend: Sean McI’ver’s Return (again, the title might change) will be out on 18th April 2013.

CABR: Impressive Suzanna! 🙂

CABR: Which character from fiction, yours or another author’s, would you like to spend time with and why?

SR: Lizzie Bennet from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. I’d wear one of those marvelous empire-line dresses and take a turn about the room with her – and we’d gossip about everyone.

CABR: I do adore Lizzie 🙂 If you could be someone else for a day, from any time in history, who would you be and why?

SR: Oh, this is a hard one. So many interesting people… Can I be a man? If it’s really just for a day I’d be a man – and I’d be Neil Armstrong: On the day he walked on the moon. Because that must have been quite an experience.

Thank you so much for hosting me on your blog today – I’m so pleased to be here.

CABR: You’re most welcome Suzanna and feel free to stop by again when you want to share more about your upcoming books.

Beyond The Page & Giveaway: “Operation Cinderella” by Hope Tarr

Nov 19

It’s giveaway time folks! 😀 Today’s generous author is Hope Tarr, who’ll be giving away an eBook copy of “Operation Cinderella” from Entangled Publishing’s Indulgence line to one lucky commentator.

So be sure to post a comment then enter the RAFFLECOPTER Giveaway.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

On to the interview…

CABR: “Operation Cinderella” (OC) has a refreshingly different plot while drawing from fairytale classics. What inspired the storyline/Suddenly Cinderella series?

HT: I grew up pretty much eating, breathing, and dreaming fairytales a la Walt Disney but also the classic versions, too. My first crush in elementary school was named Phillip and I thought he looked like the Prince Phillip of the animated Disney Sleeping Beauty fairytale.

Eventually I struck up the nerve to declare my feelings to Phillip just outside the lunchroom. “I…uh…really like you, Phillip.” He punched me in the stomach and walked away in disgust. After that, I stuck to the school library to get my fairytale fix. 🙂

Flash forward several decades…Happily my taste in “men” has improved considerably and my fascination with fairytales is as strong as ever. Fairytales are all about the underdog winning. Beyond that, fairytales teach us important lessons about life and how to win it — by being brave and honest and true, especially to ourselves.

In my “Suddenly Cinderella” Series, four unlikely Cinderella characters are helped along by fairy god friends and a just possibly magical pair of vintage Saks Fifth Avenue shoes. Some of the stories stretch the fairytale farther than others.

A Cinderella Christmas Carol“, releasing this November as a “Flirt” novella, integrates elements of Cinderella with the Dickens’ classic. The twist: the heroine is Cinderella and Scrooge! “Project Cinderella” (February 2013) takes place on the set of a reality TV show where the makeover contestant hero is the Cinderella character as well as the Ugly Duckling-cum-Swan. His Princess Charming is fashion photographer, Francesca (Ross’s ex in “Operation Cinderella“) who badly needs to learn that true beauty comes from within.

In the series finale, “The Cinderella Caper” (June 2013), Cinderella is a plus-size Greek American personal chef — readers first meet Stefanie in Operation Cinderella — who us forced to make fat-free meals for her diet-obsessed stepmother and stepsisters. It’s “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” meets Cinderella.

CABR: I know I’m among the readers/reviewers looking forward to the remaining three books in the SC series. Were you worried at all about the reception to your take on fairytales?

HT: I’m a big Fan Girl of “Once Upon a Time” and the program certainly takes liberties with the original stories, along with mashing up characters from various worlds and landing them all at some point in modern day Maine, and viewers, including me, seem to love it. But then I think a lot of the power of these archetypal tales is the timeless truths they tell.

In Operation Cinderella and the other books in my “Suddenly Cinderella” series, I start with the premise of Cinderella and then shape it to make it relevant to contemporary characters and situations. Some purists may have a problem with that, but I hope that in the main readers will appreciate — and end up cheering for — my four unlikely Cinderellas. a Rafflecopter giveaway

CABR: So can we look forward to future series from you via Entangled Publishing?

HT: Well, I hope so, Sasha. 😉 To keep the series momentum going, we decided to release the books 3 – 4 months apart, so at the moment I’m super focused on not only meeting back-to-back book deadlines but giving every book my 100 percent personal best as an author — and then some.

CABR: I wish you the best of luck with that. 🙂 Deadlines aside, did you struggle while writing any part of OC or was it a fun ride?

HT: The middle of a book is always hardest for me and “Operation Cinderella” was no exception. Macie’s undercover revenge operation has a lot of moving parts — her loyalty to her managing editor back in New York, some of which is misguided, some not; the assistant editor with whom she’s supposed to be coordinating; and the digital age culture of the 24/7 news cycle, which didn’t exist in the mid-90’s when I first started working as a magazine freelancer and contributing editor. I wanted to make sure I dealt with those pieces while developing her and Ross’s romantic relationship.

CABR: What’s next for you?

HT: I have a Regency-set historical series I’d love to finish as well as a women’s fiction work I have been picking up — and putting away again — for the past five years. And I also do travel writing on a freelance basis for BootsnAll and EuropeUpClose.com, so between those projects and managing our Lady Jane’s Salon (www.LadyJaneSalonNYC.com), I keep busy. 😀

CABR: Which character from fiction, yours or another author’s, would you like to spend time with and why?

HT: Rhett Butler from Margaret Mitchell’s “Gone with the Wind” if only because I’ve been hanging out on a cliff for the past thirty years since reading the book. Do you really not give a damn, Mr. Butler, or was that just prideful posturing? Inquiring minds…

CABR: If you could be someone else for a day, from any time in history, who would you be and why?

HT: Anne Boleyn but only if I could have the chance to change the course of history. Namely keep my mitts off the married man, king or no, and find a way to get myself out of England and back to the French court instead. ;D

CABR: Rhett and Anne, what a combo! 🙂 I had such fun chatting with you Hope and I look forward to having you back on Caribbean Accent Book Reviews in the future.

The Girl Nobody Wanted by Lynn Raye Harris

Nov 11

Title: The Girl Nobody Wanted

Author: Lynn Raye Harris

Series: The Santina Crown Series (Book 7 of 8)

Grade: CABR Gold Star Review

Publication date: November 2012

Publisher: Harlequin Presents/Mills & Boon

Synopsis: Stop the Press: Jilted Bride Stranded with a Notorious Playboy!

Anna Constantinides, publicly humiliated when her longtime fiancé announced his engagement to someone else, might have thought things couldn’t get any worse.… Until her private jet crash-landed on an uninhabited island, leaving her stranded with billionaire hotel magnate Leo Jackson.

Renowned playboy Leo’s reputation is legendary, and if the smoldering looks they were fighting to contain when rescued are anything to go by, there can only be one question on everybody’s lips: Just how long did it take wickedly sexy Leo to undress buttoned-up heiress Anna?

Review: Lynn Raye Harris has written a true gem in “The Girl Nobody Wanted” (TGNW) – an outwardly composed heroine with deep emotional wounds who faces off against a seemingly care-free playboy with his own family issues to deal with.

Anna’s strength amazed me; to remain composed while the paparazzi and her fellow royalty pay keen attention to her every move while attending her former fiance’s engagement party? That takes skill.

The one person able to see through her facade is Leo, the brother of her fiance’s soon-to-be wife, Allegra.

A businessman and owner of the Leonidas Group, which builds luxury hotels in exclusive locations.

This is Leo, as pictured on the I Heart Harlequin Presents website page dedicated to The Santina Crown series.

One can see what draws Anna to Leo even as she fights to deflect him from seeking the truth about what makes her tick. Where others see a serene princess-in-waiting, Leo sees a woman so busy suppressing her passionate nature, she doesn’t even realise it exits.

Anna is challenged emotionally by Leo on their two-person flight to Amanti; naturally Leo is a trained pilot and prefers to fly himself whenever he can, but when their plan crashes after they divert from the flight plan, the sniping turns to kissing. 😀

Boy oh boy, do Anna and Leo have chemistry together! They’re a great match in wits and in bed, or in this case, on the beach.

This story gets even better, yes it does, when they return to reality and have to face life after the island.

Leo’s relationship with his father shows a depth to our hero that makes you fall in love with him even more than you already did for shaking Anna out of her shell.

Anna herself inspires you because she’s willing to be bold, put herself out there, in the hopes of finding her own happiness and identity away from Amanti and Santina.

I’d love to be there when the Jackson family and the Santina royal family have a get together to see how Anna and Allegra interact. I’d expect some fireworks but a fun, loving relationship in the end. 😀

Although this is book 7 in The Santina Crown series, you don’t have to read the books in order. So head over to your nearest bookstore now and pick up a copy, paperback or eBook, of The Girl Nobody Wanted.

Synopsis: With a client list hotter than the Zubran desert, wedding planner Avery Scott shouldn’t be surprised that her latest client is Crown Prince Malik of Zubran—the man who once lit her body on fire…before steamrollering over her heart.

Determined to ignore Malik’s lethal charm, Avery makes a very personal not-to-do list:

1. Not being Malik’s intended, our relationship must remain 100 percent professional.

2. His arranged bride might have run away, but I mustn’t distract him—for the kings of Zubran, duty always comes first.

3. However luxurious the Bedouin tent—and smoldering the tension—pride dictates the touch I crave stays strictly forbidden.

Review: What a fantastic read! Sarah Morgan had me hooked from page 1, chapter 1 of Woman in a Sheikh’s World(WIASW).This is an emotional journey in which the heroine, Avery Scott, is on emotional lock-down while her ex-lover, Malik (Mal to his friends) is ready to commit.

The story begins with Avery dreaming of the beautiful deserts of Zubran when suddenly the ground falls away beneath her. Avery’s awakened by her co-worker and best friend Jenny.

We soon learn Avery is struggling to cope with her breakup with Mal (even though she ended things), while planning his wedding reception to a virgin princess from one of Zubran’s neighbours.

Not one to be ignored, Mal arrives at Avery’s office via helicopter (landing on the roof of her office building), demanding to know if she encouraged his fiancee to run away.

Thus begins the adventure through the desert as Avery and Mal find their way back to each other. Oh, the heat and sexual tension between these two! 😉

Even after they do, there are still relationship hurdles to overcome. Quite realistic and refreshing, since most category romance books end at the reunion scene.

Thank you Sarah Morgan for writing such a masterpiece. I hope one day you can turn WIASW into a full-length novel.

Although this is book 2 of 2 in SM’s The Private Lives of Public Playboys series, each book centres around the relationship of a particular couple, in this case that of Mal and Avery. So go ahead and pre-order your copy of Woman in a Sheikh’s World. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. 😀
