MTMH coverA snowstorm and a car accident lead to an unexpected meeting between a kindergarten teacher and the sexy stranger who rescues her from the cold in “Melting the Millionaire’s Heart“.

Linda Morris is on CABR today to tell us about her book, published under the Ever After line from Entangled Publishing. 😀

CABR: What inspired the story in “Melting the Millionaire’s Heart“?

LM: Thanks for having me, Sasha! It’s great to be here.                                        “Melting the Millionaire’s Heart” is basically a romantic comedy, but it has a serious backdrop.

The heroine, Kayla Johnston, is a teacher at a school for kids with special needs. My son has ADHD and does really well in a traditional public school, but I know lots of parents who aren’t so lucky. The story of a special school for special kids was inspired by the difficulty some parents have in finding a school where their kids can thrive.

CABR: Which scene was the most fun to write and which was the most difficult?

LM: The scene where the hero and hero, who are snowbound together on New Year’s Eve, are roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over a fireplace was probably the most fun. They do a lot of sexy bantering back and forth, and that’s my favorite thing to write. My editor, Heather Howland at Entangled, said she bought the book because of all the funny banter between the leads, which sent me over the moon!

LM picThe most difficult scene was the ending. Ay yi yi! I kept changing it, even after it had been sold to Entangled and we were on like the second or third round of edits. Readers will have to let me know whether I finally nailed it–I can’t tell!

CABR: Will you be doing any signings or appearances for this or upcoming books?

LM: Probably not in-person signings, but I’ll be doing an extensive blog tour and you can always shout out to me on Twitter (@LMorrisWriter).

CABR: What’s next for you in 2013?

LM: I have a contemporary romance called “By Hook or By Crook” coming out from The Wild Rose Press in April, and I’m working on another contemporary romance that I’ll be shopping around shortly, so stay tuned!

Mr Darcy

CABR: Which character from fiction, yours or another author’s, would you like to spend time with and why?

LM: Mr. Darcy, from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Why would I like to get naked, er, sorry, “spend time” with him? Because repression is sexy, that’s why!

CABR: I love Colin Firth as Mr Darcy! So glad to see you do as well 😀                      Coffee or Tea?

LM: Coffee, coffee, and coffee.

CABR: Dogs or Cats?

LM: I’m so a dog person, but my son has been lobbying me for a cat, which probably won’t happen because my husband and I are violently allergic. Unfortunately, we’ll probably have neither for the foreseeable future. We do have fish and two hermit crabs though, so there’s that.

MTMH coverCABR: Dog-wise there are some breeds with fur that doesn’t ‘set off’ your allergies. Bo in the White House for example 🙂   Beach or spa vacation?

LM: I have to go with spa here. I’m about five shades paler than Robert Pattinson in full Twilight makeup, so a beach is really a waste of time for me. Plus, a massage is pretty much the most relaxing thing I can think of.

CABR: Thanks for spending time at Caribbean Accent Book Reviews Linda.

LM: Thank you! It was my pleasure!

  • Hi Sasha, Hi Linda! This sounds like a great read. What sells it for me is the mention of sexy, flirty banter between the hero and heroine. I do love humor in the stories I read. Coffee and dogs … we would get along really well 🙂 I couldn’t help but laugh at your comment on how pale you are. I think the only person paler than Robert Pattinson in full Twilight makeup is Conan O’Brien.

Thank you for the interview and giveaway!

  • Banter is one of my favorite things, too, in part because I *can’t* write it. 🙂 Pair it with a serious undercurrent, and I’m hooked. I’m pretty sure I already have this one on my Kindle, whose TBR folder is bursting. LOL

  • Linda, here’s a cup of coffee for you. I brought it over from Twitter. 🙂 I can’t wait to read this — I love banter too, so I know I’m going to love this story. Congrats on all the upcoming releases too!

  • Linda Morris says:

Thanks for dropping by, everybody, and for all your kind words! *sips virtual coffee from Donna* Best of luck in the giveaway!
