Jennifer Probst’s guest post on THE SEARCHING SERIES UNCOVERED…

.
When I began the start of a new series, I knew two main things. I wanted to bring in fresh characters as powerful as the ones I fell in love with in my Marriage to a Billionaire series, and I was also determined to give readers a glimpse of how my old ones were doing. After all, we know marriage isn’t the end of anything. It’s the beginning of…everything.
.
As I first explored the concept of marriage in all its intimacies and forms, I decided to do the same thing with dating. The journey toward finding the right one has many ups and downs. Many filled with excitement and wonder. Others filled with fear and pain. It’s hard to strip down barriers and allow another to see who you really are.
.
In this time where people are getting married later in life, there is also the restrictions of men and women getting stuck in routine. We’ve created our own lives, careers, and friendships. Much more difficult changing our lives to accommodate a new love. Many people fight it, and decide they’ll never be ready.
.
It takes bravery and hope to go after love.
.
So, I decided to introduce a matchmaking agency, Kinnections, run by three best friends who graduated college together. Each one has unique characteristics and huge barriers to overcome in order to find love.
.
So do their clients.
Searching for Someday cover
It was originally called the Love Spell series, but the term just wasn’t right. So we switched it to the Searching series for many reasons. We are all searching for something. It may change at different times depending on the goal.
.
I love writing characters with issues and real defenses. Problems we all relate to. There’s many I tackle throughout the series, including stuttering, bullying, eating disorders, negative body images, and abuse. What’s the best way to introduce such serious issues into a romance novel?
.
Humor, of course. There is humor everywhere we look, under each grief stricken episode. And love. There is always love.
.
So come along with me for the ride. You will find nuggets of truth – an unveiling and exploitation of real issues – laughter – and of course, lots of hot sex.
.
Happy reading 🙂

Searching for Someday cover
First in a sizzling new series from Jennifer Probst, the USA Today bestselling author adored for her “fresh, fun, and sexy” (Romancing the Book) storytelling!

In charming Verily, New York, Kate Seymour has a smashing success with Kinnections, the matchmaking service she owns with her two best girlfriends.

But Kate’s more than a savvy businesswoman: She’s gifted with a secret power, a jolting touch that signals when love’s magic is at work. It rocked her when she picked up a strange volume of love spells in the town’s used bookstore . . . and it zapped her again when she encountered Slade Montgomery, the hot-tempered—and hot-bodied— divorce lawyer who storms into Kinnections demanding proof that playing Cupid won’t destroy his vulnerable sister, Kate’s newest client.

The only way to convince this cynic that she’s no fraud, and that love is no mirage, is for Kate to meet his audacious challenge: find him his dream woman. Can Kate keep their relationship strictly business when her electrifying attraction nearly knocked her off her feet? Or has the matchmaker finally met her match?
