If you could only use 10 words to describe RA, what would you say?

Passionate, suspenseful tale set in the world of high fashion.

What drew you to this story? Any real-life inspiration?

I was invited to write RUNAWAY ATTRACTION as part of a three-book continuity series with two other Harlequin Kimani authors, but it just so happens that for most of my childhood and teenage life I had dreams of moving to New York and becoming a famous fashion designer. How fitting that I would be chosen to write a book set in the exciting world of New York fashion!

Did you struggle while writing this book? If so, tell us how you resolved things

Gosh, yes. There were so many struggles, and much of it has to do with the fact that I had to write the book within parameters set by Kimani. The way continuity series work is that each author receives a story bible that has been written by someone else, and we are required to write our novels based on this other person’s vision. When you’re the one used to creating the story, it is very hard to stick within guidelines set by someone else.

My biggest struggle was with trying to keep Bailey’s personality in line with how the author of the story bible portrayed her. Bailey was originally supposed to be mild-manner and a bit shy, but she didn’t turn out that way. As I wrote the story, the Bailey Hamilton I came to know was bold and direct. I just couldn’t help but write her the way that I saw her to be.

Will there be any connected books in the future?

That decision is not mine to make, but I have a feeling Kimani will chose to continue the Hamilton family saga. Bailey’s brother, Daniel, seems to be popular with readers. And he definitely deserves his own story.

What are Bailey and Micah up to now? 🙂

Bailey is undoubtedly burning up the fashion runways of New York, Paris and Milan, while Micah chronicles her every move. I’d like to think he’s created a reality TV show about what really goes on in the world of high fashion, with Bailey as the star of the show, of course.

What’s next for you Farrah?

I have so many different stories in the works. Next month the third book in my Moments in Maplesville novella series, JUST A LITTLE TASTE, will be released, and in March and April of 2014, I have back-to-back releases from Kimani. Books three and four in my Bayou Dreams series, YOURS FOREVER and FOREVER’S PROMISE, hit stores.

Thats a really good question because I try hard to stay out of the lime lite. I guess go on the book blurb I would grant to interview to clear it up.

  • Mary Jo Toth says:

I think I would want to hide out on a remote island until the circus went away!

I hope to never have to deal with a scandalous situation but if so, I guess I’d face it head on and address the issue. Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
